Concerto is an initiative within the 6 framework progam of the Euro-
pean Union supporting local communities in realizing considerable im-
provements in energy efficiency, reduction of CO-emissions and fossil
fuel consumption. The challenge is to realise the objective for defined
parts of cities/regions in different countries within a relatively short
time- and limited cost-frame by combining a broad range of RES (re-
newable energy sources) and RUE (rational use of energy) infrastruc-
ture investments with informational and motivational measures. The
interaction and exchanging of experience of partners from different
countries leads to a "Concerto" within the project.
